There are also many much less comprehensive openings books for less experienced players. If a comprehensive book of this type is desired, better to consider Fundamental Chess Openings by Paul Van der Sterren. Sixty years ago it was one of the very few English language offerings. There are so many much more valuable opening books nowadays, that explain, rather than dump thousands of variations, with a +/=/- at the end of each.
